Chelan Beauty is a new line of produce from farms in the American Northwest where quality is valued over quantity. The brand wanted to “raise the bar on the American food system and make healthy food more fun and educational.” And the design team at Olsson Barbieri answered that call.
The agency’s solution involves a melding of classically Nordic design approaches with wholesome illustrations that feel purposefully primary. The suite of touchpoints shines with simple, but confident typography that employs a strong hierarchy to make for easy categorization and identification. The simplicity is what keeps the experience rooted in honesty.
Sticker elements are introduced to disrupt the simple layouts. These serve as bursts that draw in the eye to call attention to key product and brand benefits. The stickers feature fresh colors that pop on the light cream background.
Overall, this work is a triumph. It’s a welcomed departure from the typical look for farm-based brands and products.
