You may have already seen this brilliant brand identity on the social media universe. It probably caught your eye like it did mine. Super Studio’s work for Dashi, a ramen noodles restaurant, is fun and bold and impossible to ignore.
The brand is led by a thick, quirky sans-serif typeface that uses the counters in an offset position to add whimsy to the personality. However, it’s the use of an iconic crimped ramen noodle shape in place of the “S” letterform that takes this across the finish line into the winners circle. Combining this logotype bold red-orange and a light yellow limited color palette creates a fresh, bold look that grabs attention.
From this strong foundation, the team extends the brand’s visual language across a suite of touchpoints where the quirky, bold attitude takes on even more strength. From the vintage-like illustrations on the tshirts to the risque copy on marketing activations, like Fresh Noods, the brand completes a believable claim to upbeat and fun.
