Fresh colors and strong geometry lead the visual identity and packaging for Kokomo, a health food restaurant in Vancouver, British Columbia. From the core logo through the packaging and even the environments, the team at Zak established a well orchestrated design language that was ultimately flexible in color ways as well as illustration.
The brand uses monochromatic bases with a complement, or close to, for the color ways which opens the door for so many unique applications across touchpoints. The brand not only makes its food fresh and healthy, it also has refreshing packaging that’s hard to miss and even harder to forget.
I especially love the way the curves collide to create a hill-like illustration on the belly bands that wrap the bowls. It’s clever and refreshing without being too on-the-nose.
