Volta Studio has a wide swath of port wine branding and packaging within their portfolio. Each one is notable. In this newest project, they flex their design acumen in the world of chocolate, the best friend of port wine.
The identity for GLAD can be summed up in its color palette. Rich, powerful, and warm, the palette strikes a chocolatey nerve that you can almost taste. Upon this foundation, the design team introduces white typography layouts that are broken up by the brand logo in a complementary color to create a striking visual expression.
GLAD’s logo design is typographic in execution. An angular sans-serif that has the right amout of whimsy in an otherwise serious brand identity.
The packaging tells as much of the bean to bar story front and center. Printed on fine, matte paper, the ingredients and details are spelled out in a way that’s not overwhelming, but, instead, engaging.
