One of the things I love most about hotel branding is the ability to think through multiple experiences on the same premises. From the overall hotel brand through the food amenities and more, these experiences are so immersive and full of opportunities for creating memorable brand identities.
Quinsay’s design work for The Hills, a hotel in China that’s found within the dense forest of Manjuelong Road, is beautifully modern. The modernism is a stark contrast to the natural beauty of the surrounding area which reflects the contrast between English character sets and those of Su Shi’s handwriting which is in Chinese characters.
Three H’s letterforms are created in the same style as the building’s architecture. Their plurality represents actual hills, the name of the hotel. The addition of a moss color green helps add some natural energy to the overall identity suite which builds in beauty across multiple touchpoints from packaging through signage.
I especially love the way the logo graphic is created into seating poolside. Such an amazing touch that merges sculptural art with utilitarian furnishing.
