Yeah, you read that right. No, it’s not a typo. And speaking of “type” the typography on this project is as juicy as the food itself, I presume.
Woner is a five-star restaurant, but rather than spinning food off into retail for humans, they spun it off to cats. Yes, our feline friends can now eat on a five star level. Equally five-star, is the design and brand identity for the spin off.
The identity’s core is a gorgeous custom typeface that pulls in influence from Chinese character design. Slanted stems and bases merge together and look almost like chopsticks at times. Thin, long serifs give it a high end, luxury feel as if inspired by Bodoni. It’s gripping and truly interesting to view.
The packaging puts that identity core front and center and flanks it with beautiful illustrations that feel modern and semi-campy. The illustrations showcase the ingredients plated as they would in the restaurant.
Color is what gives this identity so much strength. The color are rich and deep hues that provide a base for bright illustrations and the large brand logo.
